Lucy M Jett was born and raised on a cotton farm in Wedowee, Alabama. She spent the formative years of her life on that farm. Then after graduation, she moved to Dayton, Ohio to continue her education and start her many successes throughout her adult life.
Lucy is an active member of the Mount Enon Baptist Church. She has been found singing in the church choir and participating in many church activities to the benefit of the children. She has taken many other active roles within the church, such as fund raising and missionary work, to the benefit of her entire community.
Lucy is a member of many prestigious organizations. She is a lifetime member of the NAACP, and is currently a member of the NCNW, the National Council of Negro Women and the GDRA, the Greater Dayton Realist Association. At one time, Lucy worked on the executive committee of the NAACP, was the chairperson of the Housing Committee, and personally organized seminars pertaining to predatory lending and reverse mortgages.
Lucy is a retired Procurement Specialist for the Defense Electronic Supply Center, DESC, with 30 years of tireless service. She has been a volunteer for the March Of Dimes for over 20 years, and continues to this day to provide her valuable time to worthwhile endeavors. Lucy has worked in the Real Estate market for many years, assisting others in attaining their dream of home ownership. She received her Real Estate Sales License in 1967, and her Real Estate Sales Broker License in 1988. Currently, Lucy is employed as a Real Estate Sales Associate and is an Associate Partner of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Big Hill. In 2006, she won the Marie Kindrick Fair Housing Award for her continued commitment to fair housing principles, established by the Dayton Area Board of Realtors, showing her belief that everybody is deserving of the American Dream of home ownership.
